  • Testosterone, Estrogen, Growth Hormone (HGH), DHEA, Thyroid, HCG, Pregnenlone

Common Symptoms of Low Testosterone

Any one of these symptoms could be a sign of Low T. The sooner you get it checked, the sooner you’ll start feeling better, stronger and more like yourself again.

  • Declining Libido
  • Irritability
  • Muscle/Joint Pain
  • Weight Gain
  • Lack of Energy
  • Weak Erections
  • Poor Sleep
  • Decreasing Enjoyment of Life and/or Depression
  • Decreasing Strength and Endurance
  • Declining ability to concentrate

Effects of Low Testosterone

Andropause, the male equivalent to female menopause, is real although more subtle than menopause. It is the process of male aging that starts at around 30 years of age and continues until the end of our life. It is marked by the gradual slowing down of hormone production in the male body, most noteably that of testosterone,...and therefore a slowing down of all functional capabilities.

While estrogen levels in women decline after menopause, just the opposite occurs in men. Along with declining testosterone production, men actually experience rising estrogen levels. This is evidenced by increased abdominal fat and shrinking of muscle mass...both a hallmark of male hormonal imbalance.

The loss of testosterone along with declining Human Growth Hormone (HGH) contributes to the familiar "pot belly" and declining muscle tone in middle-age men. Energy levels inevitably drop, as do sexual desire and function. Cardiac output declines, lung capacity decreases and other organ functions diminish. Loss of the feeling of well-being sometimes manifests as depression and lack of motivation, which is a common psychological complication of hormonal imbalance. Other diseases that middle-age men begin experiencing can be attributed to decreasing hormone levels and include: weight gain, prostate disease, heart disease, blood vessel disease, elevated cholesterol, loss of mental clarity/focus.

The steady decline in male hormone levels manifests itself as deterioration in physical, sexual and cognitive function. We see this in our waning interest in sex, difficulty in having and maintaining an erection, decreased sexual satisfaction, as well as fatigue, irritability and muscle/joint pains.
