Dr. Ellis and his family moved from Virginia to Arizona in 1974 when he was just a child. He grew up here in the Valley of the Sun. He went to elementary school in Glendale and high school in Paradise Valley. After completion of his college preparatory work, he attended Arizona State University in Tempe. There he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. During this time, he also played basketball in a men’s league and met several local chiropractors. One was the chiropractor for the Arizona Wranglers USFL football team. This led to his interest in the healing arts.
Dr. Ellis moved to California to pursue his chiropractic education at Southern California University Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. Immediately after graduating from chiropractic college, he moved back to Arizona to start practicing.
He started his career in sports chiropractic treating high-performance amateur and professional athletes. After several years of treating sports injuries, he transitioned to treating victims of spinal trauma and is considered one of the best in the Valley for the past 20 years. By joining the BackFit family, Dr. Ellis is excited to bring his knowledge and combine his experience with BackFit’s forward-thinking and medically integrated health care model.
Dr. Ellis met his wife in 1996 and they married the following year. He will tell you his biggest accomplishment in life isn’t being a skilled physician, but being a good man, husband, and father to his three children; Hanna, Blake, and Amelia. For fun, he likes to dabble on the guitar, go to car shows, live music events, and spend time in his family’s home in Prescott.
